An improvement in drilling of <scp>SiCp</scp> /glass fiber‐reinforced polymer matrix composites using response surface methodology and <scp>multi‐objective</scp> particle swarm optimization

چکیده

The growing dominance in terms of industrial applications has helped polymer-based composite materials conquering new markets relentlessly. But the presence fibrous residuals and abrasive particles as reinforcement polymer matrix composites (PMCs) affects output quality characteristics (OQCs) microdrilling operations. OQC aims at reducing overcuts momentous material removal rate (MRR). In such perception, multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) evident to be a suitable technique for prediction process selection manufacturing industries. present paper focuses on electrochemical discharge drilling parameters during SiCp glass fiber-reinforced PMCs using MOPSO. response surface methodology (RSM)-based central design was used experiment planning. Electrolyte concentration, interelectrode gap, duty factor, voltage were parameters, whereas MRR overcut observed OQCs. obtained experimental results initially optimized by RSM-based desirability function later with multiresponse MOPSO achieve best possible lower overcut. comparative analysis proves that OQCs can effectively improved
